Android smartphone prices drop

With the release of so many new Android smartphones, with so many in line to be launched, it was inevitable that prices of previous ones will drop. So it is no surprise that prices of former flagships Samsung Nexus S and the HTC Desire are dropping their prices.

Online retailer Saholic.com has dropped the price of HTC Desire to just Rs. 15,000 which is quite low as compared to other competitors which at one time included the original Galaxy S. The phone features Android Froyo, a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, HTC Sense, a 5 MP shooter with LED flash and 3.7 inch display. It will also be getting a Gingerbread update soon.

Also dropping down the price ladder is the Google Hero phone, the Samsung Nexus S. Soon after the introduction of its new premium smartphone, the Galaxy S-II in India, Samsung slashed the price of Nexus S to just Rs. 22,000. Online stores like Flipkart and Letsbuy are already taking orders at the new price. With the pure Android on-board, Nexus devices are the first ones to get software updates from Google. Nexus S features a 4" contour display, Android Gingerbread, a 1 GHz Hummingbird processor, 512 MB RAM, a 5MP camera with a  front cam, and 16 GB internal memory.

Update:- It seems like flipkart lowered the price of the Nexus S by another 2,000 to Rs. 19,999.
